Water is everywhere around us. You have probably learned about the water cycle in school. The water in lakes, rivers, and oceans is evaporated by the sun to form the clouds. The water comes back down to earth in the form of rain, snow, sleet, and even fog. The plants, animals, and people use the water, and the same water is evaporated to start the process all over again.
That same water is filtered and made pure for us to drink, cook our food, take baths, and water our flowers. Water in rivers and streams is also home to fish, frogs, and other aquatic life. It is important that their homes stay clean. Pollution is bad for the animals in our environment, and it is also bad for us.
